Water Elevator with Soul Sand and Magma

Fast Up and Down Travel

Fast Up and Down Travel

Bubble columns make vertical movement easy and safe. A soul sand column pushes you up, and a magma block column pulls you down, creating a tidy elevator pair for any base or mine shaft.

How It Works

Every block in the shaft must be a water source so the bubbles travel the full height. Soul sand creates upward bubbles, and magma creates downward suction, giving you precise control.

What You Need

- Soul sand and magma blocks
- Buckets for water sources
- Glass for the shaft
- Signs or gates to keep water in place

Build Steps

Step 1: Build two 1x1 shafts side by side and fill them with source water from top to bottom.

Step 2: Place soul sand at the bottom of one and magma at the bottom of the other.

Step 3: Add doors or trapdoors at entrances to hold water and decorate the landings.

Tips

- Use kelp to convert flowing water into sources quickly.
- Add lights so drowned cannot spawn.
- Make the up shaft wider for boats if needed.

Final Thoughts

This elevator is compact, cheap, and stylish. It makes mines and towers far easier to navigate.
